Dr. Edward Chiu, EAMP, DAOM
Dr. Edward Chiu brings a rich family tradition of Chinese medicine, a strong scientific foundation, and more than 25 years of clinical experience to his practice. Chinese medicine has been part of his family for three generations: his grandfather was an herbalist, and his father was a medical doctor and acupuncturist. This heritage, combined with his academic training in biology at Harvard University, informs his integrative approach to health and healing.
Dr. Chiu earned his Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture, where he studied Japanese acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. He further developed his expertise through extensive clinical training in the United States and Taiwan, including hospital internships and an intensive apprenticeship with a distinguished master acupuncturist in Taiwan.
Drawing on a broad range of approaches, including traditional Chinese acupuncture, Japanese acupuncture, and orthopedic acupuncture, Dr. Chiu tailors treatments to each patient’s individual needs. He believes that lasting improvement begins with understanding the underlying causes of imbalance, rather than simply addressing isolated symptoms. By carefully evaluating the body’s signs and symptoms, he seeks to support the body’s natural healing processes, address current health concerns, and promote long-term well-being.
Dr. Chiu has extensive experience treating pain and musculoskeletal conditions, helping patients improve mobility, function, and quality of life. He also treats a wide range of other health concerns, applying a whole-body approach to each patient’s care. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chiu has served on the faculty of several acupuncture colleges and doctoral programs, where he taught future practitioners and supervised clinical training. These experiences have deepened his clinical perspective and contributed to his ongoing commitment to excellence in patient care.
Combining time-honored traditions, rigorous training, and decades of hands-on experience, Dr. Chiu offers thoughtful, comprehensive care designed to help patients address current health concerns and achieve lasting improvements in well-being.
Dr. Marc Curley, EAMP, DACM
Marc Curley is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine who practices in Oregon and Washington. His approach to health and healing is shaped by both his Navajo (Dine) heritage and his training in Chinese Medicine. In particular, the Dine concept of Hózhó - the pursuit of balance, harmony, beauty, and living in a good way – resonates with his understanding of well-being as an expression of the relationships between the body, mind, environment, and everyday life. Marc strives to bring these perspectives into his practice by offering thoughtful, individualized care in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Marc began his studies at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) and completed his degree at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM). Originally from Reno, Nevada, he brings a background in public health, nutrition, and diabetes education to his practice, with experience working in chronic disease management and with Native American communities. These experiences inform his holistic approach to care and his interest in helping patients navigate a range of health concerns.
His clinical interests include musculoskeletal conditions, pain management, diabetes and digestive health, men’s health, and stress reduction. He particularly enjoys gentle treatment approaches and helping patients who are new to acupuncture to feel at ease.
Outside the clinic, Marc enjoys Qigong and yoga, cooking, paddleboarding, exploring the Pacific Northwest, music festivals, dancing, and spending time with his dog, Kiba. An enthusiastic foodie, he also loves discovering new restaurants.
Through his practice, Marc hopes to help each patient find a greater sense of balance and well-being, honoring their individual experiences, needs, and goals along the way.
