Facial Acupuncture

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture, also known as cosmetic acupuncture, is a natural, effective, and safe way to combat the signs of aging. It is a natural way to diminish fine lines, decrease wrinkles, and smooth skin texture and tone. 


Facial acupuncture increases circulation to the face. Higher oxygen levels and more nutrients reach the skin cells, resulting in a healthy and radiant complexion. Increased circulation also aids in detoxification and in preventing facial puffiness and discoloration. 


Acupuncture also stimulates collagen and elastin production to aid in smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, while enhancing the firmness of the skin. Collagen, a protein that is essential to giving the skin structure, strength, and elasticity, declines as we age. Acupuncture can help to increase the production of collagen to keep the skin firm and plump, as well as to keep it from sagging, giving it a more youthful appearance. 


Acupuncture can also regulate muscle tone. When facial muscles are too tense from stress, acupuncture can help to relax them so that they do not pull on the skin, thus reducing related wrinkles. When muscle tone is weak, the face may sag, and tightening loose areas can help the face to “lift” itself. 

In addition to working specifically with the appearance of the face, traditional meridian body points are also treated, to reduce the stress which accelerates aging, as well as to increase vitality, energy, and clarity.

Facial cupping 

Facial cupping involves using specialized suction cups to create gentle negative pressure to the skin and superficial tissues of the face, to aid in releasing adhesions, promoting lymphatic drainage, in addition to further increasing circulation to the face.

LED light therapy 

Clinically proven therapy that promotes metabolism in skin cells, combats acne and inflammation, fades hyperpigmentation, and accelerates tissue repair for damaged skin. It can also be used to improve the skin’s overall texture and tone. 


If you have had a recent facial procedure (dermal fillers, lasers, chemical peels, injections, neurotoxins like botox, facial surgeries like facelift or mole removal), it is best to wait a while before having facial rejuvenation acupuncture. The amount of time to wait depends on the procedure (for example, at least 3 weeks after botox, and at least 1 year after a surgical facelift). For more questions, please call our office. 

Microneedling 

Microneedling effectively treats fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin texture and color, and dramatically enhances the effectiveness of skincare products. A device available to licensed acupuncturists is used to create tiny channels in the skin that stimulate skin cells to repair and regenerate, while also boosting the production of collagen and elastin. Microneedling can also be used to reduce scars (including acne scars), enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation spots, and stretch marks. A series of microneedling treatments provide long lasting results without chemicals or surgery. 


We recommend a series of 4-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart for best results. The appearance of the skin can continue to improve for several months after your last treatment, and results can last up to 5 years. 

How much does it cost?

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture treatments are most effective when done in a series. Different techniques are used based on each person’s skin type and cosmetic goals. Unfortunately, facial acupuncture is not covered by health insurance plans. We offer single treatments or packages.

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture:

First facial acupuncture treatment (includes discussion of goals, along with an abbreviated first treatment): $175

Followup single treatment: $150

Facial cupping and Guasha: $40 per treatment

10 treatment package 1250 ($125 each) includes take home sample serum kit

15 treatment package 1725 ($110 each) includes take home sample serum kit

Microneedling treatments are most effective when done in a series. It is recommended to do 4-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

If you choose to do both facial acupuncture and microneedling, it is recommended to do three visits for facial acupuncture, then one microneedling session, per month.
